Can I keep my personalised number plate?
If you have a personalised plate on your vehicle you can still keep it. However, you will need to transfer the vehicle registration number over to another vehicle or onto a Retention Document, before the vehicle is collected. Failure to do so before the vehicle is taken will result in you being unable to use the number plate on another vehicle.
To transfer or retain ownership of the vehicle’s registration number you will need to apply at your closest local DVLA office or online.
